NOTES FROM THE B&G: The big day is almost here and we can't wait to see everyone in Aruba. Please take a look around the site, as we have updated all of the pages with new information (including Happy Hour invite below & Ravens/Eagles viewing info on the Things to Do page). TIPS BEFORE YOU LEAVE: Remember to call your credit card company if you plan on using your plastic while in Aruba. Let them know you'll be out of the country, so your foriegn charges are not flagged as fraudulent. Also, if you plan on using your cell in Aruba, you may want to check with your carrier to see if roaming or other charges will be billed. HAPPY ISLAND, HAPPY HOUR The Bride & Groom are hosting a Welcome to Aruba Happy Hour on Saturday (10/23) from 5:30 - 7pm, at the Divi G&B Resort. We hope you can stop by for a drink, even if it's only one. Come by and grab a post beach refresher or a pre dinner cocktail. ARUBA
Language: Aruba's official language is Dutch and the local dialect is Papiamento, a unique language which is only spoken on the Dutch Caribbean islands. Arubans recognize English as an international language and it is spoken by most on the island Currency: The official currency in Aruba is the Aruban Guilder/Florin, however the American dollar is accepted at most of the local establishments. Credit Cards: Most major credit cards are accepted in Aruba, but you are encouraged to check with your issuing bank to see if conversion rates are charged. Time Zone: Aruba is on the Atlantic Standard Time year-round. This is one hour later than in the northeastern US when the clocks there are turned back in the fall for Daylight Savings Time. When the clocks are moved forward in the spring, Aruba has the same time. Cell Phone Service: Your cell phone will work in Aruba, but be aware that there may be roaming charges. Please contact your local service provider before traveling.
